Rules for Pet-Friendly Properties

Dear Renter,

Please help us to keep this property listed as “Pet Friendly” by following a few simple guidelines. Your cooperation tells our property owners that you are a considerate and responsible pet owner, which encourages them to continue permitting pets at their rental property.

The non-refundable pet fee helps to off-set additional cleaning time needed whenever pets have been in residence, but it is not intended to take the place of your housekeeping obligations.

  • Flea & tick treatment is absolutely necessary.
  • Pet Toenails should be clipped to avoid scratching wood surfaces.
  • Pets should not be left alone at the property — either inside or outside. A barking pet will generate complaint calls to the rental office. Ask us about pet boarding or doggy daycare services in the area.
  • Wet dogs should not be allowed in the house, and should never be dried with towels provided by the cottage owner or the linen rental service.
  • Furniture and beds are off-limits. Most owners prefer that pets be restricted from bedrooms altogether. If your pet does get up on furniture you need to bring a blanket or sheet to cover upholstered surfaces.
  • Screens damage easily. Please discourage your dog from jumping against any screened surface.
  • Walk your dogs in a variety of locations.
  • Pet waste must be removed from the surrounding property. Please check carefully as you prepare to head home.
  • Vacuum upholstered furniture to remove evidence of pet hair.
  • Local leash laws are in affect throughout this area. Please don’t allow your dog to run loose.
We appreciate your cooperation!
